Malik loves math! But he didn’t always feel that way. When Malik was in fourth grade, math was really hard for him.
He struggled so much that his mom found him a tutor to help. Malik’s tutor was amazing! They worked together twice a week, and the tutor made math so much fun that Malik started to enjoy it.
With lots of practice and encouragement, Malik got better and better at math. Soon, he was earning A’s and feeling proud of his progress. Malik’s journey made him want to help other kids love math, too. He went to college to study early education and earned a master’s degree in math. Now, Malik teaches kids in urban communities, showing them how exciting and fun math can be.
